Author – Gene Edward Veith
This 44-page pamphlet is a gold nugget that should be passed out on mass scale in Idaho Falls. I always enjoy Veith’s writings related to our culture through Cranach. And this booklet succinctly shares the author’s source of authority that governs his life. After reading Why God Gave Us a Book, I communicated to some in my local church family regarding his “personal narrative” (pp. 10-13) of how he met God in the Bible. It’s a powerful testimony of how God can move an individual “from liberal theology to biblical faith” through simply reading Scripture and the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
As a professor of literature, Veith brings to the reader’s attention a phrase from one of George Herbert’s sonnets, “Thy words do find me out.” This is a true reality for all biblical Christians.
