Mercy in the Margins (February – 2021)

Greetings friends,

And when we thought that the year 2020 was full of challenges, just look at how the year 2021 has started: continued battles with the coronavirus, the storming of the U.S. Capitol building, political change, and uncertainty.

And yet we are excited by the goodness of our great God and what He desires to do in this new year.  The just shall live by his faith (Habakkuk 2:4).

Here are some of the highlights from January:

  • January 1: Pastor Warren Cuppy was admitted for COVID pneumonia at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center
  • January 10: Shepherd in the Falls Lutheran Church gathered back for Sunday in-person services.
  • January 11: Praise God!  EIRMC released Pastor Warren to go home!
  • January 14: IFRM Staff breakfast with Pastor Oscar Perdomo (18 people)
  • January 22: Eastern Idaho Prayer Gathering with Restoring Fountain Fellowship
  • January 24: I had the opportunity to baptize one of the men in conjunction with a Steps to Community Joy Church service
  • January 25: 1 in Christ Promotions meeting at Greenhouse Coffee

Would you like to contribute financially on a monthly basis to my missionary work?  Here are a couple of ways: (1) Send the contribution to Emmaus Road Church and specifically mark it as “missionary fund for Todd Wood”, or (2) You are welcome to give directly to me.  Thank you! Thank you so much!

Prayer requests:

  • Thank you for your ongoing prayers for my family and ministry in eastern Idaho.
  • We pray for the United States of America.
  • Please continue to pray for the healing of Pastor Warren Cuppy’s lungs and respiratory system from the effects of COVID-19.
  • Please pray for the Berean Baptist Church family as they pursue God’s will in the calling of a new pastor. Continue to pray for comfort to the Feliciano family.

My four current ministry objectives:

  • Be a servant missionary-pastor with Providence Downtown Church that specifically ministers to the incarcerated, the addicted, the homeless, and the impoverished.  It is a church ministering and bringing mercy to those in the margins.
  • Pulpit supply and pastoral encouragement to the Shepherd of the Falls Lutheran Church family in American Falls and to the Seasoned By Grace Fellowship in Pocatello.
  • Minister as a pastor with the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission.
  • Be a blessing to the pastors in Idaho Falls and throughout the region through the Eastern Idaho Pastors Coalition (EIPC).

May Jesus reign as King!

roots by the river,

Todd Wood (downtown missionary)
